Teresa Duncan

Painting is central to her practice, and she is known for her strong use of colour, often working with vibrant tones to express stories connected to her Country. She enjoys exploring colour and composition, creating works that carry both energy and cultural meaning. Teresa learned creative skills from her family, including her sister Olive Lawson, and values the time spent sitting and working alongside other women, sharing stories and knowledge. Alongside painting, she also makes tjanpi (woven fibre work) and punu (wood carving and burning). Her art practice is closely connected to her daily life, community, and culture.
