Description
During the warmer months, women go out on Country to collect tatu (gumnuts), quandong seeds, and other natural materials from the bush. These seeds are carefully cleaned and prepared, then shaped and decorated using heat to create jewellery.
Each piece is made by hand, with great care and attention. The patterns and designs are all different, making every necklace, bracelet, or earring unique. This practice brings together creativity, skill, and a strong connection to the land.
In this painting, the artist wants to show the traditional tatu making, celebrating the process, the knowledge, and the beauty of these handmade objects.
